Your role

As a Production Design Engineer in our Industrial Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing tools, streamline processes, and drive cost-effective solutions that fuel growth and continuous improvement. From developing cutting-edge fixtures and equipment to leading 6-S and OHSAS initiatives, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our operations. Your expertise will drive the optimization of manufacturing layouts, enhance production operations, and ensure compliance with regulations. You will report to the Production Engineering Team Leader. 

You will

  • Process and Tooling Development: Desing and refine manufacturing processes, procedures, and tooling to support new and existing operations. Develop Assembly tools, fixtures, left plans, work cells and floor layouts to optimize production efficiency. Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for tools and in-process operations. 
  • Manufacturing Support & Zone Ownership: Serve as the "Zone Owner" for one or more manufacturing areas - ensuring readiness and alignment wit production demands. Collaborate with the shop floor teams, engineering, and scheduling to maintain operational excellence. Define and coordinate the availability of tools, fixtures, and materials needed for successful assembly production. 
  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues, propose and implement solutions, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA). Drive continuous improvement initiatives across assigned areas and collaborate cross-functionally to harmonize practices and share best solutions. 
  • Testing & Documentation: Develop and document manufacturing and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) plans for compressor stages and components. Design tooling and workflows for hydrostatic, pneumatic, and impeller overspeed testing. Generate detailed work instructions, job hazard analyses, and procedures to support safe and effective operations.
  • Safety & Compliance: Actively participate in the site safety committee and lead shop safety improvement projects. Ensure all processes and tooling design align with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

  • You have a degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience. 
  • You have experience using Creo Parametric or similar 3D modeling software. 
  • You are familiar with using an ERP system. 
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • You are interested in working with other to support the manufacturing demands of the business.
