Research and Development Team Leader

Your role

As a Research and Development Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of advancing Atlas Copco’s engineering and product offerings through design, hands-on leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. In this role, you will lead a small team of engineers by fostering a culture of creativity, teamwork, and continuous improvement while ensuring successful product development. You will report to the R&D Manager.

You will

• Lead and inspire a team of engineers and designers, fostering creativity and problem-solving
• Manage product development projects, including budgets, schedules, and resources to meet cost and timing targets
• Develop innovative solutions for compressors and related systems
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards, customer requirements, and quality requirements
• Analyze technical challenges and support resolution of production and field issues
• Propose and initiate new projects and contribute to future product strategies 

To succeed, you will need

• You have 5+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer or in a related engineering leadership role  
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop engineering teams
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation in a cross-functional team environment
• Strong mechanical design expertise, ideally in turbomachinery, rotating equipment, or compressors
• Experience with 3D CAD Software, GD&T, ISO Practices, and Data Management and Product Life Cycle Management systems is beneficial

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, subject to weekly business requirements., allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our manufacturing facility in Voorheesville, United States (US)
