Your role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your mission is to drive supplier quality excellence through strong partnerships, clear quality requirements, and proactive engagement throughout the manufacturing process. By leveraging data, quality tools, and cross‑functional collaboration, the role ensures timely issue resolution, continuous improvement, and consistent delivery of high‑quality components. You will report to the Quality Manager.

You will

  • Supplier Quality Stategy 
    • Define and execute the supplier management strategy for Atlas Copco Comptec, aligned with global policies and industry best practices.
    • Establish, maintain, and enhance supplier qualification and governance processes, including SQAM, qualification audits, First Article/PPAP programs, incoming inspection criteria, and continuous improvement loops (PDCA).
    • Ensure supplier processes, controls, and validations meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Supplier Performance & Continuous Improvement 
    • Monitor, analyze, and report supplier quality performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
    • Work with suppliers to improve product and process quality using data‑driven insights and risk‑based assessments.
    • Promote proactive supplier communication to gather feedback that drives cost reduction and quality improvements.
  • Issue Resolution & Corrective Actions 
    • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, sourcing, and quality control to resolve critical supplier quality issues effectively and efficiently.
    • Review nonconformance reports to identify recurring or systemic issues and manage the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process.
    • Lead or support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration 
    • Serve as a key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and documented.
    • Support internal teams by enabling suppliers to consistently meet quality, delivery, and performance expectations.

You have at least 5 years of experience, working in a quality role related to a manufacturing environment. 

  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving capabilities to assess risk, interpret data, and drive effective solutions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey quality requirements and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting quality audits (e.g., supplier, process, or system audits) and supporting corrective action follow‑up.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage and influence individuals at all levels of the organization and with external suppliers.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and business needs in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • This role requires 30–50% travel, mostly domestic within the Northeast U.S. and Canada. Travel typically consists of day or overnight trips, with the ability to be home most weekends.

  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits:
    • Salary: Base salary range of $95,000 to $125,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. 
    • Bonus: Annual bonus opprtunity starting at 5% of base salary. 
    • Benefits: Competitive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, wellness programs, and a 401(k) with up to 6% company match
