Elektronikon Algorithm Developer
Your role
In this role, you will propose, defend, initiate, and follow up on projects in collaboration with stakeholders within Atlas Copco, as well as with partners from industry, academia, and research institutes. Your main task is to translate stakeholder use cases into robust, future-proof solutions and take full responsibility for the entire development process from concept to realization. You will have the opportunity to turn your ideas into real, value-creating products.
You will design state-of-the-art control and monitoring systems for various applications within the field of compressed air and gas systems, creating functional and intelligent code that enhances system performance through optimization, pattern recognition, and recommendations. In addition, you will actively innovate by developing new ideas, tracking relevant research, and building prototypes. You will stay informed about emerging technologies, evaluate their potential through proof of concepts and real-life testing, and establish collaborations with external partners such as universities and research institutes through partnerships and funded projects.
Working closely with your team, you will help bring new concepts to the market and act as the technical lead throughout the full development cycle. You will communicate technical innovations and project progress through reports and presentations to stakeholders and divisional management, while also providing technical support to both internal and external customers.

- You have a technical education background (Master in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related engineering field), a PhD is a plus.
- Experience in programming using different simulation environments (Matlab, Simulink, …) and high-level languages (Python, R, …)
- Strong interest in control theory, signal processing, dynamics of complex systems, artificial intelligence, and algorithm development.
- You are eager to develop a strong domain-specific knowledge.
- You have an affinity for software development or are willing to learn.

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our (insert organization here) in Wilrijk; Antwerp, Belgium (BE).
