Your role

Within the New Business Technologies department, we are looking for a ‘Mechanical Design Engineer’ for the Hydrogen and Steam Task Force.

This team is responsible for developing and maintaining new compression technologies for Hydrogen and Steam applications. Developments can start from a blank paper to upgrade current products as well as search for innovations together with the R&D-cell and external parties. The team oversees the entire process from research, design, testing prototypes and entering serial production.

In this exciting role, you:

• Apply your 3D insights, innovative approach and precision for developing design solutions which are producible, competitive and elegant

• Are the owner of the product design, always having a clear view of technology details and making sure that all the 3D and drawing structures are kept in order

• Bring the design to life, by taking the lead of prototypes preparation, from ordering components to coordinating assembly and commissioning for testing

• Keep a global view on the effects that design decisions can have on all business areas, and you actively keep a cross-functional alignment with all involved departments (sourcing, quality, manufacturing, production…)

• Actively scout innovating solutions and stay up to date with emerging technologies

• Are involved in all project phases (from feasibility to introduction to serial production)

• You have a degree in engineering or equivalent in experience.

• You have a very good knowledge of english

• You have knowledge about mechanical components, design standards and construction methods (seals, drive trains, fastening techniques, ISO/DIN…)

• You have knowledge about both conventional as state-of-the art manufacturing methods (machining, casting, additive manufacturing…)

• You have a broad material knowledge (metals, plastics, composites…)

• You understand GD&T
