Your role

As a member of the CT Motor Competence Center, you will actively participate in the development of the next generation of high-speed motors for direct driven turbo compressors & expanders. These are critical in the achievement of our company’s science-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. More in particular, you will be

  • involved in the electro-mechanical design, testing & field follow-up of TDD motors;
  • following-up the whole development process from prototyping till serial production;
  • supporting the mechanical design activities & follow-up/validation of prototype parts;
  • taking the lead in organizing lab test setups, test planning & documentation;
  • elaborating & executing practical means for validating designs;
  • providing support in prototype, product & production documentation;
  • validating suppliers & supporting SQA activities;
  • participating in multi-physics analyses (e.g. thermal, mechanical strength, vibration, etc);
  • consulted by other teams and/or divisions for drivetrain related issues.

 

To achieve optimal results, a set of state-of-the-art CAD/CAE/FEM & PDM packages are set to your disposal, together with the advantages of a membership in an experienced, multi-disciplinary and highly qualified international team.

  • Master of Science in Electromechanical or Mechanical Engineering.experience in the electric motor manufacturing industry is an as
  • Prepared to take the lead in small projects or project related tasks;
  • Familiar with Office365, MS Teams and other office tools;
  • Familiar with CAD systems (CATIA, Inventor) is an asset;
  • Familiar with a mathematical software package (preferably Matlab);
  • Fluent in English;

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco Airpower site in Wilrijk; Antwerp, Belgium (BE).
