Your role

Are you an enthusiastic engineer who loves to dive deep into complex technical topics? Do you want to shape the next generation of centrifugal compressors using advanced simulation tools and cutting-edge research?

 

What does an aerodynamic design engineer centrifugal compressors do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As an aerodynamic design engineer centrifugal compressors you work on the research and development of both future and current compressor technologies.

 

Your main responsibility as an aerodynamic design engineer centrifugal compressors is utilizing CFD and FEA software to simulate, analyze, and design advanced turbomachinery components. You will create multi-disciplinary numerical models, design specialized test campaigns, process empirical data, and validate your designs against physical test results. Additionally, you will provide critical technical support to the marketing and sales teams for demanding, custom client applications. You will report to the team leader Centrifugal Compressors and will work hybrid on our site in Wilrijk.

  • Master or PhD degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent technical field

  • Thorough understanding of aerodynamic and thermodynamic principles

  • Experience with simulation software such as CFD or FEA packages

  • Basic programming skills in Python or MATLAB for data processing

  • Full professional proficiency in English or Dutch

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our site in Wilrijk.
