Your role

As a member of the electrical drives team within Airtec, you will participate in the execution of technology- or product-development projects for innovative drive systems for compressors, vacuum pumps, and generators. In this role, you will collaborate with various international suppliers of components and sub-systems, relevant research institutions, and the product development teams of the involved product divisions that will integrate our products into their applications.

 

Your main responsibilities include designing and evaluating inverter hardware and components, developing and implementing new motor and drive control algorithms, and researching new inverter topologies and power electronics. You will also create technical specifications, define test programs, monitor test execution, report results, and document conclusions. Technical communication with external suppliers and development partners will be an important part of your work, as well as supporting project teams with the implementation of our products in their applications. Additionally, you will participate in design reviews and support investigations on inverter-related quality issues.

 

In this role, you will become an expert in our applied inverter hardware and motor control technologies, including their product-specific adaptations. You will continuously follow worldwide technology trends in your field of expertise, monitor product and marketing trends across the various customer divisions, and gain a deep understanding of customer needs and their applications.

  • You have at least a master degree in electromechanical, electrical or electronic engineering (or equivalent)
  • You have several years of experience in the application and design of inverter system,Matlab/simuminkisabonus.
  • You have a basic know-how of the underlying power electronics, electronic interfaces, motor control theory and praxis.
  • You speak fluent English, Dutch is highly recommended and other foreign languages are appreciated.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco airpower site in Wilrijk; Antwerp, Belgium (BE).
