Technology Engineer OIS

Your role

What does an r&d technology engineer do at the Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk? As an r&d technology engineer, you will become part of a multi-disciplinary product development team consisting of several project leaders, designers, and engineers dedicated to developing state-of-the-art oil-injected screw compressors. Your primary responsibility as an r&d technology engineer is to drive product development from the first prototype to serial production by conducting extensive research, structural calculations, and fluid dynamics simulations. You will lead technology development, build mathematical models to support our digital twin approach, and closely follow up on prototype assembly and lab testing. In this role, you will take on an expert function within project teams, translating functional product specifications into design parameters while working hands-on outside of a traditional desk environment to minimize end-user energy consumption.
In this role, you will report to the product engineering leader and work on site at our facility in Wilrijk.

Master of Engineering Science or a PhD in a related fluid dynamics domain

Analytical expertise in thermodynamics, machine architecture, and mechanical engineering

Proficiency in numerical simulation interpreting tools like Matlab, Python, FEA, or CFD

Practical skills in prototype test plan execution and mathematical tool validation

Professional proficiency in English alongside basic communication skills in Dutch
