Technology Engineer

Your role

Are you passionate about innovation and eager to help develop the next generation of sustainable compressors from concept to production? We are looking for a motivated technology engineer with a mechanical engineering focus and a drive to understand and improve our oil-free screw (OFS) compressors—the heart of our best-in-class units converting mechanical energy into compressed air.

In this role, you will work closely with the project team to drive product development from prototype to serial production, while advancing knowledge in key technology areas. You will engage in research, simulations, calculations, and modelling of components and subsystems, identify knowledge gaps and devise tests to validate concepts, and ensure smooth implementation of new ideas. You will translate functional specifications into design parameters, follow up on prototypes and testing, support digital twin development, optimize calculation tools, and collaborate with internal departments as well as external partners and research institutes.

As a member of the oil-free screw product development team, you will take an active role in continuous product improvements, share your expertise with colleagues, participate in design reviews and technical decision-making, and contribute directly to making more efficient, sustainable products that have a real impact on end-users’ energy consumption.

• You have a Master or PhD of Engineering Science or Master of Science or are equivalent by experience
• Matlab (or similar like Python) knowledge is preferred.
• Able to interprete FEA/CFD results.Experience in numerical simulations is a plus.
• Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering, experience in oil free screw compressors or compressors in general is not required.
• Experience as project member or leader in product development projects is a plus
• Good communication skills and English proficiency are required, basic communication skills in Dutch is a plu

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas copco airpower site in Wilrijk; Antwerp, Belgium (BE).
