Job description
EngineeredSolutions APF handles all non-standard products for Oil-free Air on specific customer request.
This ranges from relatively simple adjustments for Standard Plus and Customization up to high spec adjustments for the EngineeredSolutions and Low Pressure OEM.
As a Purchaser EngineeredSolutions APF you are responsible for the tactical and operational purchasing process. You participate in the multidisciplinary project teams and you contribute to the general customer satisfaction for customer specific projects.
You monitor the specific targets of the suppliers such as quality, on time delivery and cost. For the relatively simple projects, the necessary special parts are mainly located within the general commodities that also are used for the standard products. Here you investigate whether the special parts can be purchased within the known supplier base and whether this is the best option. Therefore you maintain close cooperation with the standard purchasing department.
In the other case and for the more complex engineered projects, you do intensive market research and select the necessary specific ES suppliers. You initiate price requests and evaluate suppliers on commercial, technical and logistical level, all whilst respecting legal and regulatory aspects. This implies you’ll explore, select, and introduce the suppliers considering the 6 pillars of purchasing: total cost, quality, logistics, product & process development, contracting and sustainability.
In the case of bulk orders, you check the possibility of the supplier to deliver the necessary parts within the requested delivery time and you negotiate specific project prices. For the recurring special products and options, you select the suitable suppliers and make general logistical and price agreements.
You also support the proposal department at the quotation phase of the projects in making a pre-selection of possible suppliers and assisting in requesting budget prices and possible delivery times. You systematically look for synergies with standard purchasing, other EngineeredSolutions entities and with colleagues from other product companies in order to exchange knowledge and strengthen the joint purchasing position versus the suppliers.
We expect you to initiate savings and bring them into completion.
In this role you are part of the EngineeredSolutions organization and you report to the Team Leader Purchasing.
You work closely with the SQA Engineers on the quality performance evaluation of your suppliers and the related improvement actions.
