Your Role
We have an exciting job vacancy for a Technology Engineer in the R&D team focused on refrigeration dryers & chillers.
You will lead the team from technical side in evaluating & implementing state-of-the-art technology into our product developments of refrigeration dryers (compressed air dryers) and chillers (water cooling).
We are looking for a self-driven person with passion for technology and in particular thermodynamics. You should have a desire to contribute to a better future for our planet, which you can support with your strong technical insights in improving the CO2 footprint and quality of our refrigeration equipment.
Your responsibilities
You will be part of the team in Antwerp and will collaborate with other product Companies abroad.
You will hold a key position within the team by taking ownership for technical challenges in current product ranges, as well as taking lead in investigating opportunities & developments in the field of refrigeration technology. You will follow tech trends in the market, assessing benefits of technologically advanced ideas to our applications, and actively contribute to converting these into strategic product concepts, (product or basic development (BDC)) project proposals, and ultimately a portfolio of projects in a roadmap.
International collaboration with other Product Companies will be focused on knowledge exchange, finding best practices & implementing them on a global scale, improving project designs and product quality.
-Take ownership for technical challenges for the R&D team (quality, development)
-Contribute towards design conceptualization, design activities, qualification plan
-Support development, lab, field activities from technical perspective
-Consult experts within the company to find optimal solutions
-Capture and share lessons learned with other teams/ product companies
-Propose & execute technological product improvement projects
-Investigate & follow up trends in refrigeration technology
-You have a high interest in technology (mechanical, electrical, controls, thermodynamics, chemical, …) & develop and extend expertise in new technology domains.
-You act as expert/consultant in your field of expertise (e.g. handling different gasses, hazardous areas, …) internally and externally.
- You give trainings to share/develop competences.
-You have knowledge and/or are willing to learn and follow up on International/European standards and regulations
- You define the specifications for new developments and collaborate with lab in verification tests.
- You can convert ideas into project proposals on different forums (Project Committees PCM & Basic Development BDC) and execute OTIF.
- During project execution you will continue to support and/or steer where necessary and process technical and financial feedback.
- You maintain contacts with necessary partners & stakeholders internally and externally
- You automatically keep up to date with latest technological novelties, market trends and legislative evolution
- You will collaborate with our calculation engineering in developing the digital twins of our machines, modelling & predicting machine behavior
To succeed, you will need
Knowledge and experience:
- Master’s degree in engineering (electromechanical, thermodynamics)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering role
- Highly interested in thermodynamics
- Proficiency in English is a must.
- Project management skills
- Act as reference regarding refrigeration technology
- Able to develop collaboration network with other experts, cross-functional, cross-product company, cross divisional
- Relevant software experience is a big plus, for example modelling (e.g. Matlab)
