Service Technician - Winnipeg

Your role
Key accountabilities/activities
The Service Technician is responsible for performing service, maintenance and troubleshooting of our customers air compressors, dryers and blowers. They travel to our customer sites in order to fulfill scheduled maintenance jobs, emergency breakdowns or routine inspections as per our customers service package.
The Service Technician builds and maintains strong relationships with our customers in their territory.
Main responsibilities include:
- Carrying out maintenance and service on our customer’s Atlas Copco air compressors, air dryers and blowers as well as non-Atlas Copco brand equipment
- Advising customers about the general operations of their machines and maintenance requirements while promoting Atlas Copco service products
- Commissioning new equipment and effectively diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on customer equipment
- Supporting our local customer base in Manitoba, developing new customers, and maximizing time utilization
- Taking responsibility over opportunities to update your own product knowledge by reading instruction books, technical bulletins, company resources, and by actively participating in the training programs offered by the company
- Proudly representing the face of Atlas Copco when communicating with the customers onsite or by phone by following company standards and exceeding the expectations of our valued customers
- Managing daily administrative duties such as ensuring that time sheets, work orders, emails and other documentation are signed by customer when applicable and submitted on time, as well as preparing service reports
- Advising the Service Operations Manager and/or the service sales team of any new business opportunity you may spot in the field
- Supporting in other related tasks and projects
- Complying with the organization’s environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards
To succeed, you will need
- Completed certification in one of the following trades: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Industrial Electrician, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Instrumentation and Controls, or have a similar level of knowledge through experience
- Ability to communicate well in English verbally and written
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
- Good customer service skills
- Strong physical endurance and ability to work using their hands
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
- Previous experience working on air compressors is a strong asset
Special Conditions
- Frequent travel for both short and extended periods
- Occasional on-call schedule which can include evening, weekends and holidays
- Requires working hands on with tools, lifting 50lbs regularly and working in extreme temperatures (hot & cold)
- Work can take place in environments that involve noise, vibrations, debris and dust

On-Site
This role requires you to work on-site at our client sites in Manitoba, with majority of customers being within the Winnipeg region. The candidate must be open to covering for potential shifts in Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC if needed.
