As part of Medical Gas Solutions Division, MEDGASTechnik is our medical competence center for mainland Europe. MEDGASTechnik focusses on the medical gas business with some activities into high purity technical gases/laboratories.   

The market potential for the company is very substantial in all areas of it’s operations (equipment sales, service and installation).  

 

Responsibilities

 

As Country Manager for Switzerland, you will be responsible for the successful development of Medical Gas Supply Systems, service and equipment sales in the region.  You will drive all business lines to ensure sustainable, profitable growth.   You will have overall responsibility for sales and profit and oversee all aspects of the technical, commercial, and operational handling of all business lines.  This includes annual and medium-term business planning as well as responsibility for order entry, orders, revenue, costs, and operating profit.

 

You will be responsible for all country-related marketing and sales activities to optimally position the agreed product portfolio and services. You will also be responsible for the technical design and system planning for medical gas supply systems and prepare quotations for your customers in accordance with internal specifications. Together with your team, you will ensure that the projects and orders won are installed and sold profitably. You will also be responsible for the employees assigned to you under all business lines.

You report to the General Manager of Medgas and have the following responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement sales, marketing, and business development strategies. Planning should take into consideration the interests and needs of customers.
  • Achieve sales, financials and KPIs targets established in the annual business plan, with ultimate responsibility for Medical Gas Supply Systems, service and equipment sales. When deviations from the business plan occur, propose, and implement corrective actions to bring the business back in line with planning.
  • Provide regular reporting of business results, trends, and competitor information.
  • Preparation of coordinated annual and medium-term planning for order entry, orders, revenue, costs, and operating profit.
  • Management of the employees assigned to you according to the Atlas Copco leadership model. In line with the group’s people development plans, lead, develop, and motivate a dedicated team, ensuring individual professional growth of each member of the team so that they are equipped with the required competencies and attitudes to deliver at their highest possible levels. Conduct one-on-one reviews with the team to build more effective communication to understand development, competence, and training needs, and to provide insights for the improvement of people, sales, and activity performance.
  • Development of the installation business for medical gas supply systems, service and equipment sales in Switzerland with the help of local marketing and sales strategies.
  • Ensuring consistently high quality and productivity across the entire business unit, especially when handling installation projects, service and equipment sales and ensure data management and metrics enable full transparency and measurement.
  • Participation in the design of the product portfolio.
  • Taking measures to improve standards and maximize sales.

 

Experience requirements

 

We are looking for a person with the following skills and experience:

 

  • Completed engineering or commercial studies (Bachelor), or training as a technician or master craftsman in the fields of heating/sanitary, pipeline or plant construction for medical or technical gases.
  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in construction or project management and in the management of employees and service providers on construction sites.
  • Willing to travel, about 30% travel activity. International experience is a plus.
  • Must be results-oriented with a proven track record in sales and marketing.
  • Able to promote, develop, and maintain a culture conducive to high performance and efficiency throughout the organization and to improve its performance.
  • Proven track record of positively persuading and convincing others to achieve results.
  • Exceptional sales presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Able to establish and implement a systematic course of action to achieve an objective effectively and efficiently.
  • End-to-end execution of marketing strategies
  • PC literacy, including Office 365, SharePoint as well as accounting and calculation programme.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Good planning & organizing skills.
  • Financial understanding/knowledge at management level
  • Fluency in German is essential, good English language skills are also required and French is desirable.
  • Ability to work in a team, high reliability, flexibility, and resilience.
