Field Service Engineer

Short Description
A crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technical equipment and systems by responding to scheduled and emergency field repair of all IAS products, including Henrob Self-Pierce Riveting, SCA Dispensing, K-Flow Flow Drill systems, and Atlas Copco Machine Vision systems. Provide support to optimize the productivity and quality of Atlas Copco IAS systems.
Your day-to-day

Travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex machinery

Diagnose and repair electrical and control system issues

Troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal performance, quality, and productivity

Respond to customer issues on-site, by phone, or via email

Communicate effectively with customers to resolve concerns and build strong relationships

Provide guidance to help customers maximize equipment and software usage

Conduct site inspections to evaluate performance and recommend improvements

Apply critical thinking and adapt to various technical challengesCreate and maintain detailed service reports, logs, and recordsUpdate service data in internal databases

Collaborate internally to ensure full resolution of field issues

Review and validate warranty claims with supporting data

Train customers on proper use of equipment and software

Train internal personnel on equipment repair and maintenance
Your skills and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with troubleshooting/resolving field equipment issues.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or a similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
- PC and MS Office proficiency
- Proven experience in electrical troubleshooting and control systems troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in writing

Your location
You join a field service team that works close to our customers, where most of your time is spent traveling within your assigned area to support them on-site. This position will mainly support the GM Detroit Factory Zero Site.
