Field Service Engineer

Your role
• Travel extensively to customer sites, performing on-site installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex machinery.
• Diagnose and repair issues with electrical and control systems.
• Inspect and evaluate customer field issues on-site at the customer location or by phone and/or e-mail.
• Troubleshoot customer systems to ensure that they are operating at the desired quality and productivity.
• Effectively communicate with the customers addressing their concerns and maintain a positive relationship with them to lead to higher customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Provide guidance on our equipment and software ensuring customers maximize their benefits.
• Conduct customer site inspections to assess equipment performance, identify potential problems and recommend improvements.
• Think critically, adapt to different situations, and find practical solutions to technical issues.
• Generate detailed service reports for customers and update them in the database.
• Document all service and installation actions by completing reports, logs, and records.
• Engage others in the organization to drive 100% of field issues to completion.
• Inspect warranty claims from customers and gather the data required to validate a warranty claim.
• Train customers in the correct and effective use of Atlas Copco IAS systems and software.
• Train other Atlas Copco personnel in repair of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with troubleshooting/resolving field equipment issues.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or a similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
• PC and MS Office proficiency
• Proven experience in electrical troubleshooting and control systems troubleshooting.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively in writing
• Basic experience in PLC programming.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Wixom, MI office.
