COMPANY INTRODUCTION
The Asia-Pacific Regional Distribution Centre in Shanghai is a fast-growing organization supporting several divisions across the Compressor Technique, Industrial Technique, and Power Technique Business Areas. As a regional hub for spare parts, the organization delivers more than 30,000 customer order lines each month across China and the Asia-Pacific region for over 10 Atlas Copco Group brands. Core operations include warehousing, inventory planning, and shipping, supported by purchasing, finance, IT, SHEQ, and HR.
MISSION We are seeking a Logistics Engineer to support the RDC transport team, customer centers, and divisions in achieving service improvement and cost optimization objectives. In this role, you will help implement transport agreements, enhance logistics processes in RDC, and provide analytical support through the evaluation of market capacity, transport pricing, and operational efficiency. You will also contribute to the development of methods and standards for transport operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead and support transport-related projects within the RDC - Lead and support global transport projects within GFC - Manage pallet pool activities and coordinate with third-party logistics providers - Conduct market research across available transport modes - Drive initiatives for alternative and environmentally friendly shipping methods - Review and audit transport companies and related agreements - Organize and support regular review meetings with transport providers and internal stakeholders to improve service levels - Support the development and alignment of transport processes - Perform analyses and studies related to transport and shipping activities - Establish accurate performance reporting and monitoring mechanisms - Support payment term extension initiatives where applicable
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required - Strong interest in logistics combined with a solid understanding of business operations - Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply sound judgment in day-to-day practice - Good command of both Chinese and English is required; additional language skills are an advantage - Experience with TMS systems and tender tools is considered a plus
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Logistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience - Additional qualifications in logistics or transport-related disciplines are an asset
