Engineering Team Leader & Project Management

As team leader you coach and lead a team of project engineers, product engineers, designers and test engineers towards ambitious results, and you coordinate all projects in the team’s portfolio.

You will work closely together with the Product Marketing Manager of your product range to understand customer needs and to maintain an ambitious project portfolio. You will interact with other departments and management to understand the bigger picture, and clearly set priorities for your team accordingly.

You will ensure a strong commitment of the team to realize projects on time in full, according to Master Spec targets. Products delivered by your team should be innovative and are characterized by high reliability, ease of operation and safety. You will promote "first time right" by design for assembly (cooperation with production), design for manufacturability (cooperation with suppliers), design for service (cooperation with PTS) and design for best performance for the customer/application. 
You make sure field complaints are addressed swiftly. The engineering activities in your team should be transparent, well organized, according to the process and well documented.

You will take the lead in new product development projects in your portfolio: chair Project Team Meetings and coordinate with the other departments (production, sourcing, service and marketing) to ensure all project targets are reached. You will actively follow up project budget, timing and product cost, and initiate actions where needed.

You will ensure sufficient competence and capacity in your team, and anticipate on future needs.
You will anticipate on future projects by conducting feasibility studies and concept designs You will actively look for ways to improve efficiency in the entire organization, to improve time-to-market, to reduce product cost and you will initiate actions.

Experience requirements:

At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
