Your Role

• NPI Projects: Responsible for the high-level definition, planning, execution and timely delivery of competitive new and derivative products.
  • To specification, on time, on budget, to product cost & quality targets
  • In full compliance with legislative, company & industrial standards.
  • With operational, service & support requirements fully met.
  • In compliance with global and local product development procedure.
  • Aligned to agreed roadmap and customer order schedules.
  • Drive a given range of product topics in monthly PCM.
• Engineering&technical ownership:
  • Performance as Engineering output and implement Engineering related tasks including design, prototype building, prototype validation, production/service setting, readiness of ERP/ documentation and product launch activities.
  • Define and implement technical validation and verification activities. Guide testing inhouse and on site for novel solutions, resolving problems as they arise, provide intended test data and reports from experimental design and then determine necessary next actions from the results, making appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure efficient support on the commitment of Engineering related topics on supply chain, in-house manufacturing process and aftermarket.
  • Develops innovative ideas and solutions to improve practices and procedures within the technical team and overall project team.  Provides technical guidance/supervision to less experienced staff.
• Standards & Compliance: Ensure product portfolio continuously meets legislative, industrial, and corporate standards through design, safety review and certification processes. Act as key initiator of key technical documentation.
• Teamwork: Develop positive relationships to promote collaboration among multifunctional teams to rapidly identify, assess and develop viable class leading products which deliver profitable growth. Support and guide the other departments in their technical needs. Actively support the other teams whenever this cooperation is the more effective or sustainable way to reach the company objectives.
• Ensures that all areas under direct control, are conducted and work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety policy as well as all applicable regional laws and regulations related to labor, safety and environment.

• Drive and support dedicated project tasks carried out by multiple PCs within Atlas Copco Group.

To succeed, you will need  

• Education

  • Degree in a Mechanical Engineering or Science discipline.

  Experience, competence and knowledge

  • Experience in the area of new product development and technical support. Experience in oil injected technology (vacuum pump or compressor) is perferable.
  • Experience in a number of the following areas; heat transfer and thermodynamics, vacuum pump mechanism design, electric motors, vacuum system design, electrical design, analogue&digital control logic
  • Project management competence and collaboration among mutifunctional team members.
  • Knowledge on manufacturing processes and supply chains.
  • Competence on definition and implementation of product validation/verification via experimental techniques, risk assessments, mathematical modelling analysis and CAE simulations.

  Language

  • Fluency in reading/written English, competence of communication with international English speakers.

  Others

  • Sufficient business/commercial awareness to make appropriate proposals to balance potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers.
  • Analytical mindset and a good communicator in an international environment. Teamplayer.
  • Experience with cooperating in a decentralised organisation working with different processes and development ways.
