Team Leader - Innovations
Your role
As our Team Leader - Innovations, your core mission is to spearTeam Leader the research, design, and development pipeline for our next generation of products. You will be the strategic force driving the innovation agenda, from concept to launch. Your role is to lead and inspire a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence. You will champion new technologies, oversee the entire product development lifecycle, and ensure Trident Pneumatic remains a leader in the industry. You must have a profound passion for pioneering new engineering solutions and turning visionary ideas into market-ready products.
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager
Some things you will do in this role include:
- Spear Team Leader the Innovation Strategy: Lead the R&D and Engineering teams to establish Trident Pneumatic as a centre of excellence for compressed air treatment solutions and gas generators as defined by Management team
- Drive New Product Development: Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from ideation and feasibility studies to prototyping, testing, and final product launch.
- Lead and Mentor: Guide and develop a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Strategic Road mapping: Develop and manage the company's innovation roadmap, aligning R&D efforts with long-term business goals and market opportunities.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of competitive products, emerging technologies, and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
- Process and Documentation Oversight: Guide the creation and ensure the integrity of critical engineering documentation, including Bills of Material (BOMs), manufacturing instructions, and technical construction files.
- Budget and Project Management: Develop and monitor program budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within financial targets.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary technical liaison between internal departments (manufacturing, sales, marketing) and external stakeholders (suppliers, customers, research partners).
To succeed, you will need

You have a Master's Degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Mechanical, Thermal, or Design Engineering, or equivalent technical experience. or a closely related technical field. You will also have 12-15 years of progressive experience in engineering product design and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership
Substantial, proven experience in a senior R&D or innovation leadership role may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.
You will also have:
- Proven track record of successfully leading multiple product development projects from concept to market.
- Solid understanding of the sales process, products development and applications in the Compressed Air treatment/ Compressor/Industrial Gases market is a plus.
- Strong foundational knowledge of CAD/solid modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor) and design principles.
- In-depth understanding of GD&T, modern manufacturing processes, and material science.
- Exceptional project and team management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and organize cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to align technical development with commercial objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with customers, suppliers, and senior leadership.
