Operational Buyer

Your role
As a Operational Buyer, your mission is to [The Operational Buyer contributes to the overall performance of the Distribution Center by ensuring and procuring a continuous supply of material, supplies, and services, creating an optimal mix of cost, lead-time, quality, and service to satisfy all customer and site needs.]. You will report to [Distribution Center Manager China ].
You will
•Assures that material, supplies, and services are available as required and meet established goals through adherence to Edwards / Atlas Copco purchasing policies.
• Procures production material, MRO materials, and services.
• Builds strong relationships with suppliers to leverage their collective knowledge and abilities to further Edwards and Atlas Copco business objectives.
• Engages suppliers to expedite goods when necessary and clearly communicates the appropriate details with all affected groups and coordinates follow-up plans.
• Coordinates as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
• Analyzes and develops supply chain for ongoing improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and recommends, implements, and reports on improvement activity.
• Utilizes reports to ensure adequate inventory of purchased material is maintained to meet production requirements.
• Creates and maintains requisitions, purchase orders, acknowledgements and resolves invoice discrepancies. Identifies changes in customer demand and adjusts accordingly.
• Utilizes MRP/SAP system to perform material requirements planning through interactions between production and planning personnel to ensue material availability.
• Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance and works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• Process Improvement,take initiative in identifying process inefficiencies, advocating for streamlined procedures, and actively participating in projects to enhance operations.
• Respectfully takes direction from the supervisor/ manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education level
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Relevant Previous experience (minimum years of experience to competently carry out the role, not total year of experience)
- Prior experience as buyer or planner, preferably working experience in a warehouse or logistics.
Knowledge areas/Skills (minimum level of knowledge to fullfil the role’s responsibilities)
- Demonstrated ability to drive positive outcomes with creative solutions to sourcing and supplier development.
- Working Experience with Microsoft Office – PowerPoint and Excel.
- Working knowledge of MRP. SAP experience is preferred.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and effective time manager. Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure
