R&D Engineer, Lab

Your role

As a R&D Engineer, Lab, your mission is to [Working in Shanghai Innovation Center (IC) and to provide solutions for customer specific requirements on Edwards’s products through CIP& R&D projects& Scrubebr DRE (Destructive removal efficiency) test business promotion, chemical analysis, and ISO 17025 and ISO triple system operation.]. You will report to [Lab Manager, IC].

You will

             20% time (Including but not limited to) Time Ratio can be adjusted basing on the assignment

1. 1. Lead Scrubebr DRE test on Customer onsite to evaluate the abatement perfomance.

    70% time (Including but not limited to) Time Ratio can be adjusted basing on the assignment

   1. Responsible for developing calibration capabilities for gas detectors, torque wrenches, oxygen analyzers, and other instruments. This role will lead calibration method development, uncertainty evaluation, CNAS accreditation activities, equipment intermediate checks, and quality system implementation while supporting laboratory capability expansion.（50%）
   2. Responsible for technical part of CNAS ISO 17025 running ,including test report review of CNAS lab, personnel training, quality supervision and monitoring, capability verification and measurement review, method verification, and new project implementation.（10%）
   3. Perform the chemical analysis of byproduct from internal customer by Thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier infrared spectrometer (FTIR) and water analysis tool to get the accurate test data of sample and release the report on LIMS. （5%）
   4. Perform lab material and equipment purchasing things such as contract signoff, purchase request, purchase order, goods receive.（5%）

   5% time (Including but not limited to) Time Ratio can be adjusted basing on the assignment

   1. Work and collaborate with other members from IC, App and TS teams on CIP & R&D projects and problem solution through request collection & clarification, design of experiment, preparation & execution, documentation summary and release with continuous communication internally and externally.
   2. Take full responsibility for the completion of the assigned projects and support other IC projects. Generating BKM, paper and patent through the R&D activities is preferable. Communicating with R&D Team leader, Product Management and product specialists /local teams regarding new requirements and technical issues.
   3. To provide engineering support for project specific products, eg DP, Abatement, STP, CTIP, customized facilities and equipments
   4. Control assigned project quality through project design improvements, project quality improvement, cost reduction, enhanced functionality & reliability and provide support to target of assigned project.

   5% time (Including but not limited to) Time Ratio can be adjusted basing on the assignment Support for HSE/ISO related work.

   1. Prepare, run and maintain the lab facility and equipment to ensure all are ready for the fab system testing
   2. Support IC on the compliance of ISO 9001/14001/45001 as needed through daily job or assigned task
   3. Follow the SHE rule and close the findings of regualr safety walk
   4. Else

To succeed, you will need

Education level:

Bachelor’s degree and above in Physics or Chemistry, Material, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation

Master and beyond degree are preferred

Major in Vacuum, Chemistry and Material are preferred

Language skills:

Effective communication in English and Chinese

Skills and qualities:

Good teamwork, customer/peer interaction and communication skills.

Resilient and passionate for new knowledge.
Should be self-managing and motivated

Experience of scientific instruments is preferred

Good Collaboration and presentation skills are preferred

Design of experiment is an advantage
