Your role

Mission

As a Software Development Engineer for customer-facing projects at DDS, you will hold a dual role: developing robust software solutions while supporting customer projects through unit testing, on-site validation, and remote assistance. When necessary, you will travel to customer sites to install, commission, and maintain our digital solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Additionally, you will contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our software products by integrating customer feedback and field experience back into the development lifecycle.

Major Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, and validate software solutions based on customer requirements and field experience.
• Collaborate with the software team leader and other development teams to ensure consistency and quality.
• Participate in agile development processes, including story mapping, sprint planning, and iterative releases.
• Contribute to the product and software roadmap, focusing on solutions that address real-world customer challenges.
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Gather and analyze customer feedback during field activities to inform product improvements.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service and problem-solving.
• Travel to customer locations for software installations, commissioning, troubleshooting.
• Capitalize on field experience to propose enhancements and new features.
• Document field activities, changelogs, and lessons learned for internal knowledge transfer.
• Participate in feedback sessions and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the software team leader, marketing, service, and customer center teams.
• Share insights from customer interactions with the broader team to align development priorities.

To succeed, you will need

Education & Experience

• Bachelor/master’s degree in computer science or other related majors.
• 2 years’ professional experience in software development, preferably with customer-facing or field service experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong programming skills in C# .NET for backend development.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Familiarity with customer applications (e.g., MES, process control, traceability).
• Soft skills: Client orientation, communication, teamwork, adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving.
• Language: Mandarin, read & write skill in English.
• Willingness to travel regularly within China and occasionally internationally.

• 能接受在中国境内定期出差，偶尔国际出差。
